Who can use which station

Most are open to anyone

The stations you see on the map are pay-per-use and open to any EV Loader user. Turn up, plug in, pay for what you use.

Some are private

A good number of chargers on the platform are private, belonging to a business, a building or a fleet, and are not available to the public. Those are not on your map at all, so in practice you will not run into them.

If you have been given access to a private station, for example by your employer, it appears for you and works exactly like any other.

If you believe you should have access to a private station and it is not showing, tell us which station and which email address your account uses. Access is granted by the station's owner, so we may need to check with them.

Being on the map is not always a guarantee

Worth knowing before you plan a journey around one charger.

Access is venue dependent. At some hotels the hotel's own guests have priority, and a non-guest can be turned away, particularly overnight when guest cars are parked in the charging bays. The charger is genuinely public in the app, and the parking space it sits in belongs to the hotel.

If a hotel charger is the only one on your route, call the venue first or ask at reception when you arrive. It costs a minute and saves a wasted detour.

A plug still needs to be free

The map shows Available Plugs as a count. A station with one plug and one car on it is occupied, however public it is. Where a station has two plugs, check both before concluding it is full.

If a station refuses you

If the app tells you that you do not have access, or that the station does not accept sessions from the app, do not keep retrying. Tell us the station and we will tell you whether it is private, restricted by the venue, or simply misconfigured, which does happen and which we would want to fix.
