A payment that will not go through

Work through these first

1. Try a different card. The quickest way to tell whether the problem is your bank or us. If a second card works, the first one was being declined.

2. Check that the card allows online payments. Many Greek debit cards have online or international payments switched off by default, and they can usually be enabled in your banking app in a moment.

3. Complete the bank's confirmation. European cards often require a confirmation step, a code by SMS or an approval in the banking app. If you close that screen too early the payment fails even though the card is fine.

4. Check the funds available. Remember the app asks to hold €35, not the price of your charge, so the card needs €35 of headroom even for a small session. See The €35 temporary hold.

5. Try Apple Pay or Google Pay. They carry their own authentication and often go through where a typed card does not.

Where exactly did it fail?

Worth noticing, because it tells us different things:

• Before you entered card details, the session could not be created. The plug may have been taken in the meantime.
• After you entered card details, the bank declined it, which is between you and your bank.

"An error occured on our server. Please try again later"

That is our side, not yours. Wait a moment and try again. If it persists, tell us the station and roughly the time, and we will look at what happened.

Still stuck at the charger

Message us. Tell us the station and which card type you are using, and whether it fails before or after you enter the card, and we can usually see the attempt from our side.
