Charging stopped part way through

1. Was the car actually full?

The obvious one first. If the status went to Suspended EV or Finishing, the car stopped accepting power, and a full battery is the usual reason. Many cars are also set to stop at 80% or 90%, see Charging stops around 90%.

2. Were you paying with tokens?

A session paid from your Token Wallet stops when the balance runs out. That is by design: we cannot deliver energy that has not been paid for.

Check your Wallet balance. If it is at or near zero, that was it. Either top up and start a new session, or pay by card instead, which has no such ceiling. See Token Wallet.

3. Did the charger go offline?

If the station shows Not connected, the charger has lost its internet connection. Leave your cable plugged in. These are usually brief, and when the charger comes back the session can resume. See The station shows "Not connected".

4. Did the cable move?

A cable that is knocked or not fully seated can drop the connection. Take it out at both ends, put it back firmly, and start again.

5. Was it hot?

Chargers protect themselves in high temperatures and will reduce power or stop when they get too hot. This is most likely in the middle of a summer afternoon on an EV Charging Point in full sun. It clears as things cool.

If it happens repeatedly at the same station, reducing the maximum charging power in your car's settings often gets you a complete session, more slowly, without the charger cutting out.

What you pay for a session that stopped early

Only the energy that was actually delivered. The rest of the hold is released. See Refunds and how long they take.

If it keeps happening

Tell us the station and roughly when. A charger that drops sessions repeatedly is a fault we want to know about, and we can see its connection history from our side.
