You do not need the app or an account to charge at most public EV Loader stations. Scan the QR code on the charger with your phone's camera, pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and the receipt comes to you by email.
At every plug of a public station that charges for energy. Two kinds of plug still need an account:
At those, the plug page shows Log in instead of Charge as Guest.
1. Scan the QR code on the EV Charging Point with your phone's camera. The plug's page opens in your browser. You can also open the station from the map at evloader.com.
2. Check the plug. The page shows the plug name, its status and the price. If the charger has more than one plug, tap the plug to change it to the one you are standing at. On a computer the station page lists every plug, each with its own Charge as Guest button.
3. Tap Charge as Guest and enter the email address where your receipt should go.
4. Continue to payment. You pay on our payment provider Stripe's secure page, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The amount is a temporary hold, not the price of your charge: you pay for the energy you use and the rest goes back to your card. See The €35 temporary hold.
5. Plug in, car first. Back on our page you see the charger starting. It goes to Preparing and then to Charging within seconds.
6. Lock the car and go. We email you a link to your charging page, so you can close the browser and still follow the charge, or stop it, from any phone or computer.
7. Stop when you are done. Slide to stop on the charging page, or unplug from the car first. The page then shows the energy, the duration and the cost, and your receipt arrives by email.
Charging as a guest is the quick way to charge once. An account is worth it if you charge more often:
After a guest charge, tap Save your account on the charging page to create an account with the same email. The charge and its receipt stay with you. See Create your account.
